Semper Fi!
Meet Kaida, whose motto is Semper Fi. Why? Although she was abandoned and left tied to a tree in the city, a future US Marine named Dave found her, cared for her, and restored her trust in humanity. Kaida’s protector tried to locate her original owner without success. To top things off, when he approached the local shelter for assistance, he was informed that, because he had cared for her for more than 48 hours, she was not considered a stray and that the shelter could not accept her. At Sedona, we said "bully" to that!
Sedona Answers The Call
When Dave called Sedona Shepherd and told us Kaida’s story, we immediately assured him that Sedona would be ready and able to care for Kaida. Dave had a late April deadline (less than 3 weeks away) before he was shipping out to faithfully serve our country. In true Marine fashion, Dave made sure that Kaida was safe and healthy. Kaida got to spend time with Dave’s family and play with his girlfriend’s dachshund.
While Dave was caring for Kaida, Sedona got to work lining up a foster home for Kaida. With such a fun-loving personality, we were confident that Kaida would be in high demand. As soon as we had her story listed on our website, a prior adopter of ours contacted us to help Kaida. With boot camp right around the corner, Kaida met her foster family and was an immediate hit. She is loving her time with her new family of 6 (including the two other dogs) or family of 18 (including the chickens). Kaida and Sedona give Dave a hearty Ooh Rah and safe sailing.
