Melo lived his whole life in a home with a family and friends. Sadly, his owner was unable to provide a home for Melo when they moved. He ended up at a small city shelter, waiting patiently for a new home. We couldn’t say no to this boys sweet face, even though we knew it would be difficult to find a home for Melo. He was transferred into our foster program, where one of our most experienced foster homes took good care of Melo. During his stay, we found a growth on his spleen that required surgery to remove his entire speen. The staff at Crown Veterinary Hospital took great care of Melo and luckily the growth was benign.

After recovering from his surgery, Melo still had lots of pep in his step. He loves being with people and also enjoys meeting dogs on his daily walks. Once he made a full recovery, Melo entered our Forever Friends Foster program. He was paired up with an experienced senior who needed a loving and faithful companion. Melo has some minor medical issues that we are taking care of, including a chronic ear infection. Melo turns 13 at the end of May and is looking forward to enjoying his time with his Forever Foster Mom.
