Sweet Melina is a gentle-spirited shepherd mix with soulful eyes and a loving heart.  Melina is the definition of gentle. She approaches new people with a hopeful tilt of her head and expectation of friendship. Melina will soon warm up to you and nudge your hand, looking for attention and maybe a treat.

Melina grew up in a big pack. She lived with over 15 dogs (as well as stray cats) in Puerto Rico. Since arriving in New Jersey, Melina has been looking to make new dog friends and join her own pack. At just under 40 pounds, Melina is easily manageable. She can walk nicely on a leash in a quiet environment. She has spent time in a foster home and is trustworthy in the house or crate.

Melina would be best suited in a quieter home. Loud noises (especially those annoying leaf blowers) can make her nervous. Once she settles into a routine, Melina will form a strong bond with her family. Melina is young and healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
